A UNCG Libraries Research & Applications Webinar Fall 2022 is next week on “Introduction to Twine” by Maggie Murphy, Tuesday October 25th at 1pm.

Description: Twine (twinery.org) is a free, open-source tool for making interactive fiction, computer games, and new media art that can be shared or published as HTML files. Twine stories are text-based and do not require any programming knowledge to create, but can be customized with CSS and JavaScript as well as integrate images, video, and sound. This webinar will provide an intro to Twine, demonstrate the Twine editor (both browser and desktop versions), and explore a range of options for pedagogical and creative scholarship applications.

The 2023 UNC System Learning and Technology Symposium, April 13-14, 2023, will showcase innovative and effective practices across the system. Faculty, librarians, staff, and graduate students across the system will have a valuable opportunity to connect face-to-face and online to learn from one another, connect, and network. The peer-reviewed conference proceedings will be published online. Last year’s symposium was unfortunately canceled due to the pandemic. We are all eager to come together (face-to-face and virtually) and to learn from each other, to connect, and to network. The Call for Proposals is open!

This 4-week workshop, October 17th – November 11, 2022, provides faculty with information, tools, and practice to help them to be more successful and comfortable online. The hands-on workshop provides a framework for designing an online course and guides faculty in creating a syllabus and activities that they can use in their course. This course will be facilitated by Dr. Kathryn C. Wymer, Professor of English, North Carolina Central University, and Dr. Eli Collins-Brown, Director, Coulter Faculty Commons, Western Carolina University. You can learn more and register for the workshop by visiting the DLI website.

Happening every 3rd Friday of the month, the monthly Learning and Technology webinar series features faculty, librarians, and learning professionals from around the UNC system. Presenters share innovative pedagogical approaches, best practices using learning technologies, and valuable digital resources. This program provides an opportunity to engage with colleagues across the system and foster meaningful conversations around timely topics.

Each webinar shares relevant updates from the System Office, best practices found across the System, an outside speaker, insights into new technologies, and, occasionally, the opportunity for us to have deeper discussions on a specific topic or research area.
