Information Technology Services (ITS) is working towards an end-of-the-year conclusion of UNCG’s Microsoft 365 (M365) adoption.

We are sharing this plan with you now to provide time for you to prepare. You will receive more details as we move through each stage of the transition.

Three key points about this plan:

• ITS will transfer data currently stored in UNCG’s Google and Box platforms to M365 solutions, as outlined in the following timeline.
• Faculty, staff, and students with research data will need to prepare for the migration by tagging their data in Box or Google no later than October 31, 2023.  

• UNCG is committed to data integrity and effective data management. The Office of Research and Engagement (ORE) has collaborated closely with ITS to develop a process that ensures research data compliance, security, and operability. To learn more, please see ORE’s instructions on how to tag your data.

• UNCG’s Gmail service will be deactivated, and all email messages within the application will be deleted on December 22, 2023.
