The UNC System is offering a virtual, synchronous, day-and-a-half Designing Effective Online Courses (DEOC) “Jump-Start” workshop that focuses on the three fundamental areas most essential to online and hybrid teaching and learning.

• Instructional design
• Using the campus learning management system (LMS) – for UNCG this is Canvas
• Using Zoom (or other video collaboration programs) more effectively

The DEOC Jump-Start is designed for busy faculty who excel in teaching in the traditional classroom setting but who have not had the time to study the techniques and technologies needed to transition their courses online as effectively as they would like. 

The first module is offered on the afternoon of July 28th, and the next two are offered the morning and afternoon of July 29.

Each of the 17 UNC System campuses is limited to sending 10 faculty members.  If you are available and interested in being considered to participate, please complete the Google Form no later than Friday, July 9, 2021.

If you are one of the ten chosen from UNCG, you will be notified by Thursday, July 15, 2021.
